What an exciting year this is for us!

On August 13, 2011 we officially accepted title and full ownership of the USCGC Mackinaw WABG83. Both the determination and commitment of so many made it possible for us to realize this major step in the future of the ship and museum.

Over the past six years we have proved that the museum is an exciting and viable attraction for Mackinaw City and the area. Annually, we host over 20,000 tour guests. This year, our interacive Educational Tour program taught over 700 children about topics such as knot-tying, safety aboard, communications and the history of the ship. We recently lauched an Overnight Encampment program where groups such as the Boy Scouts of America have the opportunity to sleep aboard the ship and even complete small work projects as part of their Merit Badge System.

Now is the time for us to move "FULL SPEED AHEAD" with those and other projects. As we continue to grow, we need the support of those of you, who like us, love the Mackinaw.

Supporters will also receive a 10% discount in the Ship's Store, email receipt of our newsletter and notice of upcoming special events. Your "Friends of the Mackinaw" card must be presented for admission and store discount.
