Our Board of Directors:

William K. Marvin, President
In a career spanning thirty-three years, Mr. Marvin worked in the telecommunications industry with Michigan Bell as the director of Management Employment and Placement and director of Global Markets, Michigan. He wrote and presented customer quality and service seminars; also served as a consultant in the time and stress management fields. Mr. Marvin is the vice president of the Mackinaw Area Historical Society, was appointed to the Mackinac Island State Park Commission by Governor Snyder, and is a member of the Essence of Emmet historical collaborative.

David Morthland, Vice President
David is a Mackinaw City resident who is the Executive Office Manager for the Indiana Limestone Institute and is a Purdue graduate (Electrical Technology). He is an active HAM radio operator volunteering at various events such as FEMA emergencies, field days and aboard the Icebreaker Mackinaw Museum ship.

Randall Powers, Treasurer
First Community Bank Branch President, retired, Mr. Powers owned the Cedarville Shell Station from 1999 to 2005 and was the First National Bank of St. Ignace Senior Vice President from 1983 to 1993. He currently serves on the Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Education School District (COPESD) Board of Education and Cheboygan Lions Club.

Linda Rogers, Secretary
Linda is a retired Business Education teacher who resides in Cheboygan. She holds a Master of Business Education from EMU and maintains credentials as a Master Citizen Planner.  She serves on the City of Cheboygan and Cheboygan County Planning Commissions as well as being active with the American Rosie the Riveter Association, Straits Area Community Foundation and actively volunteers with several other organizations.

Thomas Spaude, Director
President and co-founder of Innovative Communications, Inc., an integrator of audio, video and data collaboration products specializing in distance education classrooms, video production systems, interactive mediated classrooms and custom collaborative solutions for K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. ICI has grown into one of the top ten system integrators in the Unites States with systems throughout the U.S. and in seven countries.

Adam Price, Director
Adam’s areas of expertise include small and large electronics, electrical work, and computer/communications technologies. His passion for amateur radio operations led him to being a part of the ship’s HAM radio events.  It was here that his childhood fascination with maritime culture and history was rekindled.

Jim Stevens, Director
A graduate from the University of Evansville (BS in Electrical Engineering) Jim’s career experience as a Computer and Systems Engineer spans over 35 years. Since having a part-time residence in Mackinaw City, Jim has helped IMMM with many projects relating to lighting re-fit, HAM radio operations and general electrical work. He is a member of the Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Band, here in Mackinaw City.

Mike Davanzo, Director
After 40 years of service in the United States Coast Guard, Mike has retired and settled here in Mackinaw City. His USCG career is beyond impressive. He served as Commander of the Polar Star, Mackinaw (WLBB30), Hollyhock and James Rankin. He also was involved, on many levels, regarding Cutter Forces. He is surely a career “icebreaker sailor”. We are thrilled to have Mike join us and lend his knowledge and expertise to our ship museum.
